Province Extends Deadline for General Licence Requirements

The Province of Ontario has extended the deadline for condominium Managers holding Transitional Licences to meet the requirements for a General Licence (for condominium management services).

On May 21, 2021, the Province issued the following notice:

Today, the Government of Ontario made a regulatory amendment under the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015 to extend the time that all Transitional General Licensees have to complete the education and exam requirements to apply for a General Licence by approximately one year (from June 30, 2021 to May 31, 2022).

This no doubt comes as welcome news to many Transitional Licensees – particularly given the extra demands and delays that have been caused by the pandemic.
