Condo Cases Across Canada Celebrates 20 Years

Wow – 20 years!

As you may know, Condo Cases Across Canada (CCAC) is an online library of condominium decisions from across Canada – published by the Canadian Condominium Institute, National Chapter.

In 2003, our very own Jim Davidson began culling recent case law to summarize key decisions in the condominium industry across Canada. Originally, the summary of recent case law was printed and distributed by the Canadian Condominium Institute, National Chapter in a quarterly publication. As we moved into a digital age, all past and current summaries became available in a searchable library (with pdf copies of the decisions). This database now includes over 1,100 case summaries.

Jim doesn’t provide summaries of every decision rendered. Instead, he selects a handful of the most interesting cases in the previous three months.

Jim has confirmed that, in compiling each quarterly edition of CCAC, he will review 30-50 decisions from across Canada. That means in the last 20 years, he’s reviewed between 2,400-4,000 cases in order to provide this unique and helpful tool.

Congratulations, Jim. What a terrific achievement!

If you haven’t checked it out yet, I would highly recommend it.
