Provincial Government Renews Emergency Orders Until May 19, 2020

A recent Order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council made under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, 1990  renews several emergency orders issued in light of the COVID-19 crisis, and extends them until May 19, 2020.

This new Order modifies the previously applicable revocation date, which had been set for May 6, 2020. Emergency orders which have been renewed notably include the following (among others):

  • Ontario Regulation 51/20 – Emergency Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) of the Act – Closure of Establishments, made March 17, 2020;
  • Ontario Regulation 52/20 – Emergency Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) of the Act- Organized Public Events, Certain Gatherings, made March 17, 2020;
  • Ontario Regulation 76/20 – Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) of the Act – Electronic Service,  made March 23, 2020
  • Ontario Regulation 82/20 – Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) – Closure of Places of Non-Essential Businesses, made March 24, 2020;
  • Ontario Regulation 104/20 – Emergency Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) of the Act – Closure of Outdoor Recreational Amenities, made March 30, 2020;
  • Ontario Regulation 142/20 – Order Under Subsection 7.0.2 (4) of the Act – Closure of Public Lands for Recreational Camping, made April 9, 2020.
